The second workshop organised within the framework of CultureCIVIC: Capacity Building Programme, entitled “Monitoring and Evaluation” was held online on 5, 6 March 2022 between 10.00 and 17.00.
In the Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop, designed and facilitated by Başak Tuğsavul and Musa Çopur, topics such as project monitoring, indicator selection, data collection, evaluation and reporting were discussed. The workshop aimed to increase the technical knowledge and skills of artists, culture and art initiatives and non-governmental organizations on monitoring and evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop; starting from the definitions of monitoring, evaluation, auditing and reporting, focused specifically on “identifying indicators” and “data collection” for two days. The study, which will start with defining the concepts and clarifying the differences between them, continued with information on how to write the purpose, objectives and activities at each stage of a project in order to be able to monitor and evaluate. In the Workshop, where the subjects of determining, collecting and analysing “Indicators and Data” were discussed, the participants also had the chance to practice on their own projects in small groups. This workshop, which contributed to the success of the participants' projects in both implementation and reporting stages, also provided the necessary infrastructure in the fields of long-term and impact-oriented planning as well as project development.
Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop was held with the participation of representatives from projects that received grants from CultureCIVIC until March 2022. The videos of the sessions will be published in the Learning Space of the CultureCIVIC website for those who want to improve themselves in monitoring and evaluation.
CultureCIVIC: Capacity Building Programme
CultureCIVIC, a European Union project, organises online workshops where it provides training support to artists, culture and arts initiatives and civil society operators from different regions of Turkey. The 12 workshops, which form the backbone of the CultureCIVIC: Capacity Building Programme, will be held throughout 2022 and 2023. The workshops aim to create the pivotal ground for cooperation and dialogue among the participants, carrying out studies that improve the skills of the participants in cultural management and civic participation. Individuals who design and manage culture-art-based projects in public or non-governmental organisations, culture-art institutions, universities or independently can apply to the workshops, which are organised by CultureCIVIC's executive partners, Goethe-Institut Istanbul, Anadolu Kültür and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV).
