Istanbul Gender Museum Digital Capacity Building and Sustainability Project

Istanbul Gender Museum is a virtual museum operating in line with the principles of inclusiveness, participation and intersectionality. Feminist museum pedagogy modules and cultural event concepts associated with the content of physical and virtual exhibitions complement the museum’s work. With each project, it opens up alternative areas to discuss gender roles in different contexts, such as women and LGBTI+ history, politics, education, working life, culture, art and climate crisis.
In addition to its inclusive cultural concept, the museum provides online and online opportunities to open up space and offer visibility to groups and subjects who are discriminated against, invisible and ignored based on gender, in response to the attacks on women and LGBTI+ rights, also defined globally as gender backlash.
With the digital capacity building and sustainability project, the museum aims to improve the site’s infrastructure, carry out a holistic corporate identity work, develop its communication strategy, carry out social media visibility studies, ensure digital security, and ensure sustainability by creating voluntary management and structuring studies.
