Kindness for the Love of It

Kindness for the Love of It Project aimed to emphasize the importance of being a helpful individual, doing good without expecting anything in return, and civil society in the earthquake region where the sad disaster occurred in our country blending fairy tales with theatre, in cooperation with professional theatre artists and theatre students in order to provide psycho-social support.

The "Kindness for the Love of It" Project provided an education and theatre performance opportunity for theatre students and professional artists in the earthquake zone, and psycho-social support for families and children affected by the earthquake. The project was carried out between September 2023 and June 2024, and operated in the provinces of Adana, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman. The project's director Çetin Azer Aras, in collaboration with his partners Ankara Academy Art Association, the volunteer project team and theatre artists, aimed to strengthen civil society awareness through interactive theatre performances on the importance of education and good deeds.

Within the scope of the project, applications for education were received in November 2023 and events were held in December. The education process, which started in Adana, continued with the performance of plays in Hatay, Adıyaman and Kahramanmaraş. Following the trainings attended by a total of 25 theater students and professional artists, the plays performed for families and children in the project provinces were shot by a professional team and shared on YouTube.

Çetin Azer Aras

He is on the permanent staff at Ankara State Theatre. He works as an actor, director and instructor in every field related to theatre art. He trained actors and directed plays in various institutions, professional chambers, and in cooperation with the public and private sectors. He staged and performed plays in private theatre companies and established Yaşam Sanat Merkezi Theatre.

Meryem Özkan

She works as a Project Consultant in partnership with Çetin Azer Aras. She is an expert in fundraising and access to finance. She has experience in writing and executing projects in the fields of youth, entrepreneurship, culture and arts supported by national and international organizations. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management.
