Kindness for the Love of It

September 2023 - April 2024
ADANA, HATAY, KAHRAMANMARAŞ, ADIYAMAN, ONLINE

Kindness for the Love of It Project aims to emphasize the importance of being a helpful individual, doing good without expecting anything in return, and civil society in the earthquake region where the sad disaster occurred in our country blending fairy tales with theatre, in cooperation with professional theatre artists and theatre students in order to provide psycho-social support.

In such a period as we all intensely experience the difficulties of being human, living with rights, accessing resources and being psychologically strong, we aim to set out as artists by emphasizing the importance of serving others, doing good, and being a good and helpful individual by taking more responsibilities as individuals and communities, in accordance with the experience we have gained in our country. With this goal in mind, we want to act with fairy tale theatre, where fairy tales and theatre are brought together. In this project, there will be fairy tale theatre acting training, kindness-themed theatre plays will be performed and digital recording activities will be carried out face to face in Adana and simultaneously online. The training will include theatre students and professional theatre actors living in all cities in the earthquake zone as well as Adana State Conservatory students, professional theatre artists in city theatres and private theatre companies, and students in private theatre companies. Participants will participate in "Fairy Tale Theatre Training" that will be for1 day, 8 hours. After the training, the participants will perform the participatory theatre play titled "Storyteller Değer Dede" coordinated by Çetin Azer Aras with the theme of kindness in Adana, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman, as a method of psycho-social support provided to the children families, educators and volunteers living in the region affected by the earthquake through theatre. These mobile games, which last approximately 1.5 hours and can be performed in any area set as a stage, will be recorded with a professional camera and accessible to everyone on digital channels with English subtitles.
