There is Art in Me

TRABZON
The “There is Art in Me” project has brought together children and young individuals, in whom we need to wake up the child.
Trabzon Chamber Theater comprises of young volunteers and students who have suppressed their dreams and scattered in entirely different ways. The primary goal of the project is to provide a theater stage to these young individuals, yesterday’s children, who have released the artists they have hidden even from themselves, and to the children who have not yet found the opportunity to discover their creativity. A play is created with young participants, portraying conservative and oppressive people of Trabzon meeting the art within them. The project also included workshops in various areas such as nutrition, sports, psychology, etc., based on theater’s body-mind integrity approach. In this synergy of youth and child, the process was finalized with the creation of a theater play. In addition, activity steps were recorded and made into a documentary.
Trabzon Chamber Theater
Trabzon Chamber Theater was founded in 2022 by Trabzon State Theater Actor Mahir Elvan with the objective of being the new focal point of theater in Trabzon. It is a comprehensive workshop where young individuals can freely stage their plays in experimental projects and receive training in many different areas of art. Having provided its participants many training courses since its establishment, including visual arts, music, diction, drama, theater, etc., Trabzon Chamber Theater also conducts many social responsibility projects through its association. Theater plays produced within the scope of such projects are staged by young individuals for both children and adults.
Mahir Elvan
He was graduated from Atatürk University Theater Department (2011-2015). He began working at the Trabzon State Theater. Since 2015, he has acted in 17 plays in 8 seasons. In the same year, he was recruited by Avrasya University as an Expert Instructor for Theater classes. Since 7 years, he has been teaching Diction and Theater as Master Trainer at the Public Education Center. He has participated in many art projects throughout his career. In 2022, he founded “Trabzon Chamber Theater.”
