Organized under Documentarist, the 13th “What Human Rights?” Film Festival took place in Istanbul on December 9 to 13, 2023. After the festival, a selection of documentaries from the “There is No Other World” section of the program will be screened in seven cities other than Istanbul in 2024, together with side events such as workshops and panels to be held in collaboration with local NGOs.
Documentarist Travelling Ecological Documentary Screenings were planned to coincide with local events such as tea and hazelnut harvest in the Black Sea region, olive harvest in the Aegean region, and Nevruz festivals in Diyarbakır. In order to create a new, livable world, we need to change our thinking, perception and behavior, and see water, seeds and other natural beings not only as resources, but as belongings of the nature and all living things. The documentary screening and side events in the program delve into issues such as climate change, ecological crisis, natural disasters and human-made destruction that continue to be a threat to the nature, and aim to raise awareness while coming up with answers.
